AI Prof. DUX — Version 1.0 | April 2026
This document constitutes the Terms of Use of Dux, an AI-powered educational platform. It sets out the rules, responsibilities, and expectations for all parties who access or use the Dux platform, including educational institutions, school administrators, teachers, and students. By subscribing to or using the Dux platform in any capacity, the Institution and its Users confirm that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms described in this document.
By using this service, you agree to the following terms, and your continued use constitutes ongoing acceptance of these terms.
Access to and use of the Dux platform constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of this policy. The Institution is responsible for ensuring that all Users are made aware of and comply with these terms before accessing the platform. If the Institution or any User does not agree to these terms, access to the platform must be discontinued immediately.
Dux grants the Institution a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the platform solely for internal educational purposes. This includes curriculum delivery, lesson planning, student assessment support, and teacher resource management within the subscribing institution.
The platform may not be used for commercial resale, redistribution of platform features, or any purpose outside of the Institution's own educational operations without prior written consent from Dux. Any unauthorized use of the platform constitutes a material breach of this agreement and may result in immediate suspension of access.
Each User is issued individual access credentials. Sharing of login details between users is strictly prohibited. The Institution is responsible for managing user accounts within its environment, including the timely creation and deactivation of accounts for staff or students who join or are no longer affiliated with the institution.
Access rights and permissions must be configured and controlled by the Institution. Unauthorized attempts to expand or bypass assigned permissions constitute a breach of this agreement and may result in access suspension or legal action. To maintain platform integrity, access activity may be audited periodically.
All users of the Dux platform are expected to behave professionally and responsibly. The platform is designed exclusively to support educational outcomes and must be used in a manner consistent with that purpose.
The following activities are strictly prohibited: using the platform to store, distribute, or promote unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or offensive content; attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, data, or system infrastructure; introducing malicious code, viruses, or software that could damage or disrupt the platform; using AI features to generate content that is misleading, discriminatory, or harmful; circumventing or disabling security features of the platform; scraping, copying, or reverse engineering any part of the platform's technology, interfaces, or AI models; using student data for purposes unrelated to education or in violation of applicable privacy laws; and impersonating another user, institution, or entity on the platform.
Dux reserves the right to monitor platform usage and implement protective measures against any conduct that could jeopardize system integrity or violate the terms of this Agreement. Violations may result in account suspension, termination, or legal action.
The Dux platform incorporates AI-powered features to assist with lesson planning, content generation, and student support. AI-generated content is a tool designed to assist educators and must always be reviewed and verified by a qualified teacher before being used with students. The platform bears no responsibility for errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated content.
Users must not use AI features to generate content that is submitted as a student's own original academic work without appropriate disclosure. The use of AI-generated content must comply with the academic integrity policies of the Institution.
Users may only upload content to the platform if they have a legal right to do so. Uploading content does not transfer ownership of that content to Dux. Users and Institutions retain ownership of original materials they upload but grant Dux a limited license to store and process that content in order to provide the platform's services.
Permitted content includes: original materials created by the teacher or institution, content for which the uploader holds a valid license or written permission from the copyright holder, content released under a Creative Commons or other open license permitting educational use, and content that is fully and verifiably in the public domain.
The following content must not be uploaded under any circumstances: full copies of commercial textbooks or workbooks, even if the institution holds purchase licenses; exam papers owned by third-party providers without explicit written authorization; content downloaded from the internet without a verified open license; any material marked 'All Rights Reserved' or with no stated license; copyrighted images, audio, or video files without appropriate licensing; and content containing personally identifiable information about students or minors in a way that violates applicable privacy law.
Official curriculum materials produced by government bodies, such as the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MEB), are protected under national copyright law even when freely accessible on official websites. Free public access does not constitute permission to reproduce, digitize, or redistribute such materials within a private system. Where curriculum-aligned content is required in the platform's AI knowledge base, the recommended approach is to build that content using original, teacher-authored materials that reflect the curriculum rather than uploading source materials directly.
The responsibility for ensuring that all uploaded content is legally compliant rests entirely with the Institution and its Users. Dux reserves the right to remove content identified as being in violation of copyright law and may suspend upload privileges for repeat violations. If a User or third party believes that content on the platform infringes their copyright, they should contact Dux support immediately with full details of the material in question.
Personal data processed within the Dux platform shall be protected with the highest industry standards. Personal information will be collected and used strictly for delivering services, improving user experience, and fulfilling legal obligations. Dux does not sell user data to third parties and does not use student data for advertising or commercial profiling purposes.
Data will be encrypted both in transit and at rest. Access controls will be employed to ensure that only authorized personnel can access sensitive information. In the event of a data breach, affected users and the relevant regulatory authorities will be promptly notified in compliance with legal requirements.
Student data is processed only as necessary to deliver educational services and will not be shared with third parties except where required by law or with explicit institutional consent for approved service providers. Institutions retain control over student data within their environment and may request its deletion at any time.
User and content data is retained for the duration of the Institution's active subscription. Upon termination, institutions may request a data export within 30 days, after which data will be securely deleted from Dux systems. Dux processes personal data in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK No. 6698). Users have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data by contacting Dux's data protection team.
Users have the right to request access to their personal data processed by Dux and to obtain information regarding the purposes and scope of such processing. Where personal data is inaccurate or incomplete, Users have the right to request correction or deletion. Users may also object to the processing of their personal data based on legitimate interests or other legal grounds.
Upon request, personal data shall be provided in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and may be transferred to another data controller where technically feasible. Consent to data processing activities may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
Users have the right to lodge complaints directly with Dux's support team or to escalate the matter to the relevant supervisory authority in the event of perceived data protection violations. Dux has established internal procedures to facilitate the prompt handling of user rights requests and complaints.
All fees related to the use of Dux's services must be paid in accordance with the terms agreed at the time of subscription. Fees may vary depending on the selected service package, the scope of services, and the agreed usage period. Current fee schedules and payment terms are communicated through Dux's official channels.
Requests to change or upgrade service packages shall take effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise expressly agreed. Users are responsible for providing accurate billing and contact information. All applicable taxes and legal charges shall be borne by the Institution. In the event of non-payment, Dux reserves the right to suspend or restrict access to services without prior notice until outstanding obligations are fulfilled.
Dux reserves the right to amend and update this Agreement to reflect changes in legal requirements, industry standards, or service enhancements. Any material changes will be communicated in advance through official channels such as email notifications or platform announcements.
Amendments shall become effective on the specified effective date. Continued use of the platform after the effective date shall constitute acceptance of the revised terms. It is recommended that Users periodically review this document to stay informed of the current terms and conditions.
All disputes arising from or in connection with this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, including the Turkish Intellectual and Artistic Works Law No. 5846 (FSEK), the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), and other applicable legislation.
In the event of a dispute, the parties shall first endeavor to resolve the matter amicably through direct and good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be achieved through negotiation, Users retain the right to seek remedies through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms or by applying to the competent judicial authorities. In cases related to the processing of personal data, Users may also submit complaints directly to the relevant data protection authority.
For questions, concerns, or requests relating to this policy, including data access requests, copyright reports, or general policy clarifications, please contact the Dux platform support team at prof.dux@neu.edu.tr. This document is reviewed annually and updated whenever significant changes to relevant legislation or platform features occur. The most current version is always available within the platform's documentation section.
